At the 2019 Rabobank F&A Leadership Awards Summit, Rabobank analysts discussed the trends shaping in the future of the food industry. Iconic brands are facing new competition from upstart brands, and they risk becoming obsolete if they do not evolve with consumer demand, said Senior Consumer Foods Analyst Nick Fereday. Global Beverage Strategist Steve Rannekleiv added that there is still hope for big brands, arguing that they could regain lost ground by learning how to connect with consumers whose needs are evolving.
